The reSails story

Albury Wodonga Yacht Club

Why set up a sailing community marketplace?

Hindsight. Our kids did learn to sail 12 years ago. We have a lot of stuff that would be useful to others.

What would have made life easier as our kids got into sailing? Knowing where to source stuff.

Through Northbridge Sailing Club we were incredibly lucky to meet an amazing sailing parent community to help us navigate the “where to get stuff”. Not everyone has the chance for these pearls of wisdom.

For example, where do you go to get gear when you enrol your kids in learn to sail?

Name branded sailing gear is great but it’s silly to invest if you don't know if your kids will take to the sport. You have to shop around to find less expensive items.

Like us there are so many families who have stuff they they’d happily pass on at minimal costs. Lifejackets, wetsuits, booties etc

Need to buy a boat but not sure if your child will want to sail at the end of the season?

We relied on word of mouth or club posters as to who might have a dinghy for sail.

We know that there are so many unused boats in storage, sailing clubs, garages, and backyards. We know of may who have tried the usual online channels with no success.

So here we are.

We want to build connectivity between sailing families so you get to have great networks we have.

We want your search for items to be easy.

We want your ability to pass on what your family no longer needs to be simpler than you’ve experienced before.

Our inspiration on “how to do this” came from our daughter's online thrift store.

Anything to help sailing families keep their families sailing with the least amount of fuss.

Search for what you need, load the gear you no longer need, spread the word.

And we are stopping the contribution to landfill.
